Questions that Trigger the mind, and forward focus questions

The Doofus Principle/Degree of Strength

There was a young man named Rufus,
He was the office Doofus.
He got on our nerves,
And threw us some curves;
We just couldn’t give him the respect he deserves.

He was known as a klutz,
Just a really big Yutz;
The fact is, he simply drove us all nuts!

However, we had no real proof that he was a goof,
Either way, we still all thought he was one big doof!

One day,
Along came a new boss named Tiffany.
Who helped us to have a great epiphany.
She explained to us at length,
The Six Degrees of Strength.
She showed us a new path,
So we all did the math,
Which helped us to see
No Doofus was he!

After learning our new tools,
We sure felt like fools;
For his strengths are much greater than zero,
Alas! Now he is our greatest hero.

As a team, we’re really rocking,
‘Cause now we all dance like No One

One of the discussions our team had was the tried and true question of "What is the best part of your day" We all felt that this question was certainly a question that triggered the mind.
This was an area the team agreed was the hardest to do, we are all looking for the meeting to begin and to end, so asking questions can sometimes seem like a waste of time. Our team all agreed that this was one area where we would have to put in some effort.
Carol mentioned that this could be extremely useful when you are in cross functional and matrixed team meetings. That this could help when you are participating in greenbelt or blackbelt projects.
Helen and Judy both mentioned that when you are in a meeting and there is negativity it may take more than one question to change the tone of that person. Maybe coming prepared with forward focused questions could help to keep the meetings flowing.
