You all came to mind, as I was sending out a reminder of our last (official) POIS team meeting for our Pathways program this morning.......sooooo I thought I'd drop everyone a note to let you know that it's been fun. It was a great experience to connect with fellow employees that I already knew and some that I didn't. I have to admit that I was hesitant at first when it was suggested that I go to Pathways, however once I became involved I was glad that I attended. It's been a great experience and hopefully we'll all remember to utilize our leadership skills at work and at home.
Have a good day !
Do your body habits reflect how you are thinking? If your thinking can drive your outward physical behaviors, can we alter the flow of habit creation in reverse?
Why not?
Remember your special physical body movement that you established at Mastery that would allow you to take control of your mind and steer it back onto the path?
How often have you been using it? Is it as powerful a driver to change the flow of internal thinking patterns?
My experience:
I've been out of work for the past two weeks recovering from a tonsillectomy.
Thinking typically drives my physical body to reflect a stressful day at work - tense shoulders, neck pain, eye strain, restlessness, some nervous tics...
No work for two weeks meant that nearly all the pysical habits disappeared.
My first day back, the physical habits have returned (no kidding), driving me nuts thinking I had somehow "mastered" their occurence.
Why? How to reverse the flow?
The one physical habit I developed in Mastery may not be enough to drive the thinking patterns.
How many are needed? Perhaps one for every thinking pattern that influences my external body...
Create some kind of physical habit for yourself to remind your brain that you are in control of how you think and that running amok (or off the path for that matter) is not an option.
Keep it simple, make it fun, let it be natural for you. Just do it.
Week 16: Doofus Principle
Re: Presidential POIS Meeting
Katherine Ann Nische, Samanthia Rousos, Joe Fretz, Paul Smith, Allan Schroeder
Attendance: Samanthia, Kathy, Joe, Paul and Alan. Joined our group from the Salsa Brew Crew: Shannon and MariAnne.
After the Mastery Program, our meetings have become a more informal setting. Still talking about the weekly subjects, but also opening it up to other areas the team members would want to discuss.
We spoke about how we “doofus” people, but also about how we should focus on finding their “degrees of strength” instead.
Alan shared some positive feedback with regards to LLS project he’s worked on. There is part of LLS that is called a risk analysis…so in the spirit of Pathways, Alan has put a positive spin on this by utilizing a tool he’s developed called “opportunity analysis”. Focusing on the good and not just the bad – great thinking Alan !

Week 17: Degrees of Strength
Re: Presidential Detail POIS Meeting
Attendance: Paul, Kathy and Alan (by phone)
Paul and Kathy spoke on the phone. Left a message for Alan to let him know that it wouldn’t be a formal meeting. Others out of town or Kaizen events.
We touched base on degrees of strength in our last meeting. No formal meeting this week.
